Cutting baby’s nails
Hand care for babies
During the first few weeks of life, babies have very fragile nails that can tear easily. But at a certain point, the baby’s nails grow so long that the baby can accidentally scratch him or herself. After around 6 weeks, you can cut your baby’s nails. Until then, you can keep nails short using a baby nail file.
When is the best time to cut a baby’s nails?
Cutting a baby’s nails is very tricky and difficult because the baby cannot yet keep his or her little hands and feet still. The easiest way to cut a baby’s nails is to wait until the baby is nursing or sleeping. It is not a good idea to cut your baby’s nails immediately after having a bath. The baby’s nails are so soft after bathing that you could accidentally cut his or her finger or toe in the process.
What is the best way to cut a baby’s nails?
