Nipples and baby dummy
There are numerous types of bottle nipples available on the market, all of which must meet strict legal requirements.
Nipples: what are the choices?
The type of bottle nipple that is best for your baby depends on a number of factors: the intended use (breast milk, formula or, for example, formula with baby cereal added), the age of your baby and your baby’s sucking strength.
It is important that you do not use the bottle nipple as a dummy!
Bottle nipples
One of the most commonly used bottle nipples is the cherry-shaped nipple. This nipple is available in a 0+ version and is designed especially for bottle-feeding newborns (breast milk, formula or water). The cherry-shaped nipple is also available in a 0+ medium version, suitable for slightly older babies with a stronger sucking reflex.
A variable nipple is also available. This nipple has three size options, by which the size of the hole can be changed by turning the nipple.
Dummies soothe babies
Many babies find it soothing to use a dummy or soother, which prevent children from sucking their thumb. Sucking on the dummy comforts the child and also has a calming effect on parents. When sucking on a dummy, the baby’s teeth and palate continue to develop normally.
There are various types of dummies available, the most common of which is a dummy with an orthodontic shape. Generally speaking, there are three different types of dummies available: a dummy for newborns with a special button for safe sleeping, a dummy with ring (approx. 6 months and up) and a solid dummy (approx. 12 months and up) for weaning the child off of the dummy.
Recyclable baby dummy
The bébé-jou synthetic dummy is recyclable (in the relevant bin).
