Dummies
Dummies and soothers come in a wide range of sizes and styles. All of them, however, must meet strict legal requirements.
Why use a dummy or soother?
Dummies are designed to prevent children from sucking on their thumb. It is important to use a special orthodontic dummy to ensure proper mouth development. The shield must be equipped with comfortable ventilation holes so that it does not block the airways or cause a rash around the mouth. Generally speaking, there are three types of dummies available: one for newborns with a special button for safe sleeping, a normal dummy with ring (6 months and up) and a solid dummy (12 months and up) to wean the child off of the dummy.
Dummies provide comfort and soothing
Dummies have a calming effect, not only for the child, but also for the parent or guardian. It is important to realise that dummies are not harmful for your child in any way. The materials used in the dummy, however, must meet European standard requirements.
Silicon dummies
All bébé-jou baby dummies and bottle nipples are made of silicon. Silicon dummies retain their high quality for the duration of their use and will not become porous after being sterilised. This keeps the surface material hygienic when the dummy is being used.
